Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for portable gas detection in the gas utility industry, specifically targeting the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States. This position is home office based and involves the promotion and growth of the portable gas detection portfolio within the gas utility market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the sales process, which includes promoting, selling, supporting, consulting, managing the tender process, preparing quotes, and building relationships with end-user customers in the gas utility industry. The role requires a strong understanding of the portable gas detection product portfolio, which will be developed through successful completion of required sales and technical training programs. The appointed candidate will work closely with the Teledyne Gas & Flame Portable & Fixed Gas Detection sales team, the Teledyne GMI Product Management and Engineering team, and Teledyne Detcon. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve agreed sales targets by identifying sales opportunities in both new and existing markets, thereby meeting or exceeding business growth objectives. This role will also involve regular meetings with existing and prospective customers to understand their evolving business needs, preparing customer-specific business plans, and attending sales meetings and exhibitions both domestically and internationally. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Territory Sales Manager will be tasked with monitoring and reporting on market and competitor activities, providing relevant reports and information on a weekly basis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in selling portable gas detection solutions, demonstrate the ability to work independently, and maintain a focus on Teledyne Gas & Flame's values, strategies, and objectives.
