About The Position

As a Territory Sales Lead, you will be delivering growth of General Mills Pet by meeting and exceeding business targets in Neighborhood Pet / Independent Pet Store retail accounts in the Midwest market: MN, IA, ND, and SD. Requirements

  • At least 2 years of sales experience in retail
  • Must reside within or near the assigned geography
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technology and tools
  • Strong partnership-building and communication skills across all levels, including presentation facilitation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to travel daily, including up to 4 hours of driving per day, 20% overnight travel, and occasional weekend work
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Grow General Mills Pet by selling new and existing products into Neighborhood Pet / Independent Pet Store accounts within your territory
  • Serve as the primary contact for store owners, managers, and distributor representatives
  • Conduct business reviews with customers to assess sales results and identify future opportunities
  • Deliver effective customer education and build strong, productive relationships
  • Partner with distributors to educate and earn recommendations
  • Leverage trade funds and in-store activations to increase sales
  • Use insights to drive category leadership, including assortment reviews, pricing analysis, seasonal program planning, new item introductions, and promotional planning
  • Log visits and activity daily in Salesforce
  • Take personal accountability for results and demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs
  • Show enthusiasm for General Mills Pet products, categories, and priorities, linking them to customer growth
  • Ensure excellent in-store execution
  • Manage trade funds and assigned budgets responsibly
