About The Position

The Territory Outreach Manager (TOM) plays a critical role in expanding Behavioral Innovations’ presence within the healthcare community. This individual serves as a trusted partner to medical providers and referral sources, helping connect children and families to high-quality ABA therapy. In this role, you will build strong relationships with pediatricians, specialists, and community providers, educate partners about ABA therapy, and generate qualified referrals that support the growth of BI centers within your assigned territory. You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy in the field while partnering closely with internal clinical, intake, and center leadership teams. This position reports to the Director of Outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Business, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
  • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare outreach, business development, provider relations or territory-based sales.
  • Frequent travel, typically 67–100% of the workweek is required.
  • Proven success building relationships with physicians, medical practices, or healthcare referral partners.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales or outreach KPIs.
  • Understanding of healthcare systems, referral processes, and insurance companies (Commercial and Medicaid).
  • Proficient with CRMs (Salesforce, Badger, Power BI) managing pipeline, documentation, and performance reporting.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Professional presence and ability to engage with medical professionals.
  • Self-motivated with strong accountability and follow-through.
  • Strategic mindset with strong territory planning abilities.
  • Comfort working independently in a field-based role.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate clinical information effectively and BI's value proposition clearly.
  • Experience delivering presentations, coordinating provider events, or leading educational sessions.
  • Understanding of ABA therapy fundamentals, diagnostic referral pathways, and payer mix dynamics.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑moving, growth-oriented environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to partner effectively across departments (Intake, Clinical, Center Ops, Leadership).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular in-person visits with pediatricians, psychiatrists, developmental specialists, and early intervention providers.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, office managers, and clinical teams.
  • Position Behavioral Innovations as a preferred ABA referral partner within the territory.
  • Develop and execute a strategic outreach plan that supports referral growth across all assigned centers.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with high-volume referral sources and emerging provider partners.
  • Maintain consistent engagement through structured outreach and provider touchpoints.
  • Monitor referral patterns and market trends to adjust strategy and maximize impact.
  • Educate providers on ABA therapy, diagnostic pathways, insurance processes, and BI’s clinical outcomes.
  • Represent BI at provider education events, lunch-and-learns, networking events, and community initiatives.
  • Support BI’s presence at autism advocacy groups, parent resource fairs, and professional medical associations.
  • Generate high-quality, conversion-ready referrals aligned with intake criteria.
  • Ensure accurate referral handoffs to the intake team, including clinical and insurance details.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with providers regarding patient progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Center Directors, clinical teams, and intake to align outreach with center capacity and growth goals.
  • Track referral sources, provider engagement, and territory performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of provider interactions in CRM systems.
  • Use data and insights to refine outreach strategy and improve referral conversion.
