About The Position

Pepin Distributing Company, LLC is a leading beverage distributor in the Tampa Bay area, offering a broad selection of domestic, import, craft beers, craft and canned spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages and waters, including mega brands such as Budweiser, Michelob Ultra, Stella Artois, Busch Light, Corona, and Modelo. This Merchandiser position is responsible for creating eye-catching beer displays in grocery stores. It provides a great opportunity to develop a career while learning about the beer industry. Merchandisers conduct daily activities in grocery stores, including building displays, placing Point of Sale (P.O.S.) materials, managing space within regulatory guidelines, pricing products, and pulling up and rotating products per Company Policy. This role is an ideal starting point for those interested in the sales side of the business. The territory for this role covers accounts in Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Land O Lakes, and surrounding areas, requiring the candidate to reside within this territory.

Requirements

  • A dependable, personal vehicle to be used for work with proof of liability insurance
  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required
  • Daily, in person travel within the service territories of Pepin required (Hillsborough and Pasco Counties)
  • A valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Required to work Saturday, Sundays, and some holidays
  • Must have a smart phone with a camera and data capability

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of general work experience is preferred
  • Prior grocery store or knowledge of the beverage market, a strong plus
  • Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements

Responsibilities

  • Restock coolers, shelves and displays in assigned accounts
  • Rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf following product Code Date Policies
  • Assist and/or build displays with proper P.O.S. per Company policy, to meet retailer needs and maximize product sales
  • Ensure P.O.S. communicates the proper package and price to consumers
  • Use equipment such as hand trucks, dolly's and pallet jacks to move product within an account
  • Build customer relationships at the store level
  • Continually strive to achieve the number one sales position in each account with proper P.O.S. to ensure success of our brands
  • Maintain knowledge of Pepin’s complete and growing portfolio of Brands and Packages
  • Communicate daily objectives with Supervisors and other team members
  • Manage time effectively to route daily work needs
  • Practice “Safety Always” by adhering to safe working practices, Company policies, rules, and regulations. Correct obvious hazards immediately or report to supervisor if not immediately correctable
  • Work hours will vary daily due to business needs
  • Other duties as assigned
