  • Salespersons are expected to always represent the best interests of the Company.
  • Become the solution provider in the assigned accounts.
  • Obtain a balance of sales by selling all products and services.
  • Continually grow the gross margin in the assigned accounts.
  • Perform all tasks directed by management.
  • Sales of business solutions based on Clayton Controls lines of automation hardware and software products and services within an assigned geographic territory.
  • Achieve company objectives by planning effectively, setting sales goals, and projecting future performance.
  • Effectively conduct customer presentations to all levels of the customer's organization.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic relationships at all levels of the customer's organization.
  • Liaising with others in the engineering team, clients, and contractors.
  • New customer development by following up on leads and prospecting.
  • Follow up quotations, commercial negotiations and persuade/convince customer to place the order with us.
  • Analyze data to find the most efficient sales methods.
  • Discover sales opportunities through consumer research.
  • Participate in industry or promotional events to cultivate customer relationships.
  • Assess sales performance according to KPI's.
  • Monitor competition within assigned territory.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Sales Manager.
  • Results-oriented, tenacious, self-starter who strategically plans for success.
  • Demonstrates impeccable sales acumen with passion and drive for success.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent presentation skills (development and delivery).
  • Effective team player with ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

  • Experience inputting and retrieving data to develop and/or nurture leads.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to develop sales strategies and use performance KPI's.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, specifically able to effectively use MS Teams for meetings and presentations.
  • Technical knowledge about automation products.
  • Proficient in the basic technology that applies to automation components.
  • Know specifically where to find product and engineering information.
  • Apply and size each product to an appropriate application.
  • Familiarize oneself with new products as released.
  • Seek instruction when unsure of product or technology.
  • B.A., Business, Finance or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' industry experience.
  • Demonstrated sales track record, new sales track record and quota attainment.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in new business development and lead qualification.
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory 75-80% of the time.
