About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Territory Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in shaping customer relationships and driving business growth within the foodservice industry. As one of the largest food distributors in the U.S., US Foods offers a variety of exclusive and national brand products, along with services designed to enhance client profitability. The Territory Manager will be responsible for nurturing existing accounts, acquiring new business, and educating customers on ordering platforms, menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies. The position operates within a team-based selling model, collaborating with Specialists, marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver’s license is required, and motor vehicle record must be in good standing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals
  • Problem solving ability / organization and negotiation skills
  • Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred
  • Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred
  • Tech-savviness – proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and nurture the customer relationship in a team based selling model
  • Educate customers on ordering platforms
  • Provide menu consultations, product recommendations and pricing strategies to help customers succeed
  • Drive sales success by selling to customers, increasing case growth, and acquiring new business
  • Deliver impactful sales presentations
  • Tailor sales approach to individual customers
  • Practice effective time and territory management
  • Work collaboratively with Specialists to assist with top penetration opportunities and new accounts opening
  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery
  • Develop new business by identifying prospective customers utilizing market intelligence databases, business directories, leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Manage deliveries to the routing schedule published by the transportation department
  • Troubleshoot any problems that occur during the order process (e.g., delivery mis picks, short on loads, stock-outs)
  • Know the market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Share market information with customers as part of value-added services provided
  • Drive your personal motor vehicle to conduct regular check ins, site visits and follow ups to ensure customer satisfaction
