About The Position

Drives sales growth and strengthens customer relationships within an assigned market. This role maximizes revenue from existing accounts while generating new business, leveraging strong communication and organizational skills to engage customers, vendors, and branch operations. The Territory Manager partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver excellent service, achieve sales goals, and enhance market presence and competitiveness. By collaborating across teams and acting as a trusted advisor, this role ensures customer satisfaction and delivers measurable results across a multi‑million‑dollar territory.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of customer service experience within the Landscape and Irrigation industry.
  • Proven success in B2B sales, including managing and growing multi‑million‑dollar territories.
  • Strong ability to build, grow, and maintain customer relationships across diverse markets.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on customer-facing interactions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with employees, customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of basic sales practices and strategies to effectively engage and nurture customer bases.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Maintains a clean driving record.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Horticulture, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Irrigation Association Certification (e.g., Certified Irrigation Contractor or Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor) preferred
  • Landscape Industry Certified Technician designation preferred
  • State-specific licensing or certification in landscaping or irrigation, if applicable, is a plus
  • Bilingual capabilities (English and Spanish) are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Expand and retain the customer base by cultivating strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Maintain exceptional client service and satisfaction through consistent, proactive engagement.
  • Lead territory sales strategies to exceed revenue targets and drive business growth.
  • Stay current on product innovations and promote new offerings to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Plan and execute strategic promotions and vendor programs to increase product visibility and sales.
  • Support branch operations to streamline processes and ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Provide regular performance and sales reports to the Area Sales Manager with insights for improvement.
  • Develop and execute a targeted annual sales plan to drive measurable revenue results.
  • Champion digital tools to enhance efficiency and sales effectiveness.
  • Conduct business reviews and leverage data to optimize sales performance.
  • Represent the brand and build networks at trade shows and industry events.
