About The Position

The Territory Account Manager - The Territory Account Manager is responsible for modeling the core mission and vision for all the companies that encompass the family of care.   These companies are Arkansas Hospice, Arkansas Palliative Care, Arkansas Advanced Care, Arkansas Hospice Foundation, and First Choice Senior Care.    The Territory Account Manager is responsible for identifying markets of opportunity and securing market penetration for Arkansas Hospice, Arkansas Palliative care and Arkansas Advanced Care to fulfill our vision as the pre-eminent hospice and palliative care provider dedicated to delivering unsurpassed comfort to those needing compassionate navigation through serious illness or life's closing chapters. S/he partners with hospice program leaders in developing "Books of Business" and growth strategies for the hospice programs in his/her area of responsibility along with strategies and tactics to promote and leverage Arkansas Palliative and Arkansas Advanced Care.   The Territory Account Manager supports hospice program growth and palliative growth and works diligently with branch leadership and staff to ensure the execution of branch growth plans.  S/he has a strong partnership with the clinical leaders and team members and serves as a growth resource for all staff.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Social Services, or related field preferred; high school diploma/GED plus at least 5 years recent directly related experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years previous related work experience preferably in a hospice.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid Arkansas driver’s license, car insurance, and car required.  Must be able to travel daily to various locations.
  • Knowledge and acceptance of hospice philosophy and principles of care.
  • Understanding of patient benefits using palliative care and advanced care.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Skill in public speaking.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, health care team, physicians, hospice employees and volunteers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with co-workers and other customers.
  • Ability to follow basic safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves referral and admission objectives set in conjunction with branch hospice and palliative care admissions resulting in obtainment of census goals for each.
  • Identifies potential referral sources and arranges educational visits by Provider Relations staff or team that can: Provide census growth for the respective branches. Offer increased potential for patients with longer length of stay.
  • Create and execute call plans that focus marketing and educational efforts to referrals sources that can increase referrals and admissions of appropriate hospice and palliative care patients.     Consistently monitoring the success of call plan in achieving goals and adapting or altering plans to maximize results.
  • Appropriately use company monies to help promote all companies’ mission and vision in giving care to patients and their families in a time of great need.
  • Collaborate with local clinical team to address potential service opportunities throughout territory.
  • Notifies, documents and collaborates with the appropriate staff member(s) and/or clinical leaders regarding any patient care or service issues discussed during visits to referral sources.
  • Consistently seeks training in the improvement of marketing and customer service skills that ensure customer and patient needs are met.
  • Staffs Arkansas displays at appropriate meetings or conventions.
  • Provides educational inservices to healthcare providers for all companies under the Arkansas Hospice umbrella.
  • Collaborates with local clinical team to assist with community events and presentations.
  • Develop relationships with nursing homes, hospitals, healthcare providers, and other referral resources and actively solicit new contracts and updates existing contracts with these entities.
  • Always maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Utilizes and models excellent customer service skills at all times; seeks opportunities to assist patients, families and co-workers; demonstrates teamwork and cooperation.
  • Accepts direction and follows instructions from supervisor; seeks additional information as needed; works with minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Continually meets organizational standards for attendance and punctuality; notifies supervisor in a timely manner when employee will be absent or late for work.
  • Attends all required meetings and in-services; seeks opportunities for additional professional development activities as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
