About The Position

As part of our Terrain Park Crew, the attendants are responsible for maintaining and constructing features within the terrain park, ensuring rider safety by monitoring activity, educating guests on proper use of the park, and performing daily inspections and necessary repairs to maintain optimal conditions, all while actively skiing or snowboarding throughout the day; requiring a high level of riding skill and strong understanding of terrain park safety protocols. Requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced ability to safely ski or snowboard in adverse conditions and on steep terrain, including freestyle terrain.
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools such as rakes, shovels, and basic carpentry tools.
  • Ability to work outside in ANY AND ALL weather conditions, including but not limited to rain, snow, sleet, high winds, and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on a frequent basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance of terrain park features, boundary ropes, and signage during operating hours using snow rakes, shovels, and drills
  • Prepare terrain park to be opened each day by setting up signage and boundary ropes, clearing fresh snow, and shaping snow around each feature
  • Prepare terrain park for grooming at the end of each day by removing any obstacles to snow grooming equipment, and reshaping/rebuilding feature takeoffs
  • Maintain a positive guest experience for terrain park users. Act as an ambassador to the public by setting good examples of terrain park etiquette on the mountain.
  • Keep track of and maintain tools and equipment (rakes, shovels, drills, radios etc.)
  • Inspect and test features in the terrain park to ensure all features are free of damage, and to determine when snow maintenance is required
  • Close features as needed when conditions or other circumstances do not allow them to be ridden safely
  • Help in spotting/reporting any injuries in the terrain park to ski patrol
  • Other duties as assigned
