About The Position

The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a transportation terminal, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant driver and freight flow. This role manages site operations including safety, security, equipment availability, and facility coordination, while providing direct and indirect leadership to terminal staff. The Terminal Supervisor works closely with operations, maintenance, safety, and human resources to support business objectives and maintain high service standards. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential to success in this role.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions with incomplete information
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail, with an understanding of the risks associated with missed information
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of experience managing or supporting operations within a transportation terminal environment
  • Previous experience providing direct or indirect supervision of employees or drivers
  • Familiarity with transportation or logistics operations and terminal workflows
  • Understanding of basic safety practices and compliance requirements in a transportation setting
  • Basic proficiency with office software and operational systems

Nice To Haves

  • A post-secondary degree in business, logistics, or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in transportation operations or supervision
  • Up to three (3) years of experience in transportation, logistics, or terminal operations
  • Experience managing teams where communication and conflict resolution were critical to success
  • Exposure to process optimization or continuous improvement initiatives within operations

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support assigned drivers using a servant-leadership approach to ensure safety, engagement, and operational success
  • Ensure adequate availability and utilization of tractors and trailers to support daily operational needs
  • Collaborate with customers and fleet resources to align terminal operations with business requirements
  • Partner with Human Resources and Safety to facilitate onboarding, ongoing training, and continued driver development
  • Work with onsite maintenance to address groundskeeping, building maintenance, and terminal infrastructure needs
  • Coordinate with maintenance and IT to ensure office supplies, equipment, and systems are stocked and functioning properly
  • Monitor and coordinate terminal-related expenses to ensure alignment with operational and financial goals
  • Participate in all required company training and development activities relevant to the position
