About The Position

The B3/B4 Terminal Supervisor/Manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and scheduled train performance on assigned territory. This role includes ensuring annual rules classes are held for train service employees and verifying compliance with the rules by monitoring performance on a continuing basis. The supervisor/manager will provide support in investigating accidents and injuries to determine cause and minimize future occurrences. Additionally, the position involves planning the operation of local trains to provide required service to customers and fulfill service requirements. A good working knowledge of safety and operating rules, train operations, FRA regulations, hazardous materials, labor agreements, and corporate policies is required, along with familiarity with the Thoroughbred Yard Enterprise System (TYES), crew call, and other applications. The role also requires the ability to operate track switches, couple cars, maneuver onto and off of equipment, and perform work around freight trains. Developing, motivating, and training employees who work in the assigned territory is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of job-related experience (minimum level).
  • 3-5 years of job-related experience (preferred level).
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) preferred.
  • Preferred majors include Business, Business - Transportation Operations / Logistics.
  • Technical skills in Brio, Crewcall System, MS Outlook, MS Word/Word Processing, and TYES.
