About The Position

The Terminal Operator at Holcim is responsible for the hands-on operation of terminal equipment and daily functions as directed by terminal management. This role is crucial for maintaining terminal operations efficiently, ensuring the safe handling of products, and adhering to health and safety protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• High mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Welding experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of cement and the construction industry is an asset.
• Ability to communicate and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.

• Experience with integrated computer systems in a terminal environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate terminal equipment and perform daily operating functions as directed by terminal management.
• Maintain terminal buildings and equipment in good condition and operate equipment safely.
• Handle product efficiently in both receiving and shipping processes.
• Unload barges and railcars, transferring products into proper silos, and sampling/testing products received and shipped.
• Load bulk unit trucks correctly, ensuring legal weights and proper product for customer delivery or pick up.
• Use and operate unloading equipment safely and properly, including vibrators, compressors, and pumps.
• Process Bill of Ladings and assume responsibilities for terminal operation during supervisor's absence.
• Assist at other Holcim locations as required and perform other duties as assigned.
