Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid state Driver's License is a must.
  • A valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is also required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow written job instructions, directions, and safety procedures.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and long division.
  • Basic computer knowledge and user ability.
  • Organizational and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including RCRA.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in terminal or marine operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all products are loaded or unloaded safely and efficiently.
  • Perform work as instructed by supervisors and function as a team member with other operations personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and practices, including active participation in safety training.
  • Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies, following established safety guidelines.
  • Understand and ensure all work meets Federal and State requirements, as well as company safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Perform isolation of energy and permit-to-work activities in accordance with company safety fundamentals.
  • Open and close valves, both manually and via computer systems.
  • Ensure correct tank lineups for various receipt and delivery operations.
  • Perform tank gauging and temperature verification, and complete associated paperwork.
  • Review operation orders for errors, verifying backups, tank selection, and equipment suitability.
  • Load and unload various transport vehicles (railroad tank cars, trucks, ships, barges).
  • Monitor gauges and adjust flow rates.
  • Execute start-up, shutdown, and commissioning procedures for process equipment.
  • Perform simple maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Participate in and complete all assigned training programs.
  • Work with more experienced operators on new or unfamiliar systems to improve skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness of operational areas.
