About The Position

Join our dynamic team at Advario Texas City, a leading partner in liquid storage logistics with a global network handling a broad range of products from chemicals, gases and fuels to new energy products. We are dedicated to innovation, excellence, and delivering top-notch solutions to our clients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an entry level Operator to join our operations team. PURPOSE AND FUNCTION: Works under guidance and direction of the shift supervisor and the assigned Operations operator(s) responsible for the safe and efficient handling of all customer products.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by company to access facility.
• Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
• The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, before after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Ability and willingness to perform/comply with following items, with or without reasonable accommodation: Ability to climb various ladders and stairs typically ranging up to 100 feet in height, using the proper safety equipment Ability to work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, etc. for extended periods of time.
• Ability to raise 75 pounds and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as flame retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
• Must be medically approved to wear a respirator.
• Must be able to pass a DOT random drug test.
• Must be willing to work in outdoors environment for extended periods of time during inclement weather.
• Requires turning and tightening nuts and bolts lifting to 50 pounds at times.
• Able to handle working with chemicals, acids and petroleum products and be around vapors with respiratory protection
• Must train in Safety and Hazmat requirements at the facility
• Proficient in comprehension of written work orders
• Basic math skills required
• Must be able to work on docks
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with all levels of management
• Must be willing to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc as dictated by operations
• In order to perform the essential duties, regular work attendance is required
• Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules
• Ability to carry a company issued cell phone/radio and be on-call during and after regular business and non-working hours including after dark hours, for work as may be required, assigned and scheduled as dictated by operations

Nice To Haves

• Two-year degree in applied technology preferred.
• One of the following experience/specific knowledge preferred: 1 year terminal Operations/Maintenance experience OR 3 years of general industry experience such as working in a manufacturing plant, steel mill, refinery, petrochemical plant, energy related industry, performed construction work on pipelines, tanks or manifolds, or have millwright or industrial mechanical, welding, or electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as assigned and directed by Shift Supervisor
• Load and unload tank trucks, ships, and barges in a safe and efficient manner while complying with DOT standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.
• Record accurate product temperature and levels in storage tanks
• Perform or assist in the performance of preventive and regular maintenance duties.
• Assist Operations with product transfer alignments including piping, pumps, and associated valves
• Perform all work in strict accordance with operating policies procedures, and checklists.
• Perform all work safely at all times in strict accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Complete all required training documentation in a timely fashion.
