About The Position

The Terminal Operator position at Kinder Morgan involves loading and unloading tank trucks, ships, and barges, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies. The role is critical in maintaining the operations of the largest independent terminal operator in North America, which handles a variety of products including renewable fuels and petroleum. The operator will also be part of the Emergency Response Team and will perform maintenance duties as required.

Requirements

• Two or four year degree with any discipline from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Honorable discharge from US military, any branch, or three years terminal Operations/Maintenance experience, or five years of general industry experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers and Kinder Morgan.
• Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones, including a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).

• Previous chemical, refining, or terminal experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload tank trucks, ships, and barges.
• Record product temperature and levels in storage tanks.
• Climb tank stairs, operate valves and pumps, gauge tanks.
• Assist Operations with product transfer alignments including piping, pumps, and associated valves.
• Perform or assist in the performance of preventive and regular maintenance duties.
• Become a member of the Emergency Response Team.
• Perform all work in strict accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Perform all work in strict accordance with operating policies, procedures, and checklists.
• Maintain training in Safety and Hazmat requirements at the facility.
