The Terminal Operator at Energy Transfer is responsible for the operation of terminal equipment related to the receiving, storing, transferring, and loading of refined petroleum products. This role requires compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements while ensuring efficient and reliable operations. The position involves customer service, inventory management, facility maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Gauge storage tanks and take meter readings for all products on a daily basis
  • Provide top-tier customer service to commercial and operations customer representatives
  • Calculate and input all product inventories and meter readings into appropriate systems
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of product inventories and thru-puts
  • Perform facility maintenance on office building, assets, vegetation, as needed
  • Perform the safe loading of petroleum products onto trucks and receive products from pipelines
  • Travel to various refined products and crude facilities with little notice to assist terminals across the organization
  • Take product samples as required and perform/log required Quality control tests
  • Perform and log all scheduled maintenance and compliance inspections
  • Ensure that all terminal equipment is functioning properly and report failures to supervisor
  • Perform daily walk around inspections to identify potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Issue work permits to contractors performing work at the Terminal
  • Correct or stop all unsafe acts or conditions not in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures
  • Remain knowledgeable of, and prepared to enact and coordinate the Emergency Response activities until relieved by supervisor or management personnel
  • Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to supervisor, customers, and other impacted parties in a prompt fashion
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license for state of residence
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in mathematics and able to perform all required calculations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Able to use basic hand tools and operate basic product testing equipment
  • Effectively communicate with peers and management of various levels
  • Self-starter able to work with little or no supervision
  • Able to notice subtle color differences in product samples
  • Willing and able to work as part of a team, take direction from supervisors, prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules
