The Operating Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring safe operations which includes loading ammonia trucks, unloading ammonia from vessels, as well as general operation and maintenance at Mosaic’s Non-Union Distribution Ammonia Facilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate (tech school a plus)
  • Experience in Chemical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Operations
  • Basic technology skills are required, familiar with MS Office applications and phone applications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Maintain clean work environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies
  • Demonstrate skills to operate equipment following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others.
  • Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to climb stairs and work at various heights.
  • Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns, or materials.
  • Able to hear, with or without correction.
  • Able to read, write and understand basic English.
  • Able to perform simple math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Able to see, with or without correction.
  • Able to use fine hand motor skills.
  • Able to wear a respirator.
  • Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience of 1 – 2 years’ experience working in Industrial/Manufacturing or Ammonia Operations setting, operating mobile equipment of industrial and/or mechanical experience

  • Through the progression program, train and demonstrate competency in all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Through the progression program, train and demonstrate competency in all maintenance procedures and mobile equipment operations.
  • Perform routine inspections and monitor conditions with ability to identify abnormal conditions and troubleshoot basic root causes.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audits.
