This position serves as a central coordination point between terminal operations, planning, and technical support to maintain operational continuity and data integrity. Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in terminal operations, dispatch, or TOS-related functions.
  • Experience working with a Terminal Operating System (e.g., Navis N4, Tideworks, or similar) required.
  • Knowledge of container terminal operations, including vessel, yard, gate, and rail activities.
  • Working knowledge of terminal operating systems and related applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate in English at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish at an intermediate, conversational level in order to interact effectively with all internal employees
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
  • Ability to analyze operational issues and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by terminal operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time terminal operations within the TOS to ensure alignment with operational plans and schedules.
  • Execute and manage system transactions related to container movements, equipment assignments, work instructions, and status updates.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve operational exceptions, system discrepancies, and data errors in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with yard, vessel, gate, and rail operations to support changes in operational priorities or conditions.
  • Communicate operational updates, delays, and system-related issues to supervisors, planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy of container location data, inventory status, and equipment availability within the TOS.
  • Perform data corrections, validations, and audits to maintain system integrity and operational reporting accuracy.
  • Provide first-level functional support to TOS users during live operations and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Assist with contingency procedures during system interruptions or degraded operating conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Document incidents, exceptions, and recurring system or operational issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
