About The Position

Terminal Manager STA of New York is seeking an experienced School Bus Transportation Terminal Manager with a strong record of optimizing operations and ensuring full regulatory compliance. Will be skilled at resolving daily concerns among parents, students and staff, along with utilizing advanced transportation software to drive operational excellence. Required: Fully licensed CDL holder with S & P endorsements. Preferably a SBDI and 19A Certified Examiner. Skilled in implementing cost-saving initiatives, strengthening communication systems, and building positive community relationships to deliver safe, reliable and efficient student transportation services. Be responsible for building and maintaining a culture of cooperation and responsibility in the terminal. Ensuring our employees get what they need to do a great job for our customers. Be interested in the communities we serve. With the help of others, ensure coverage of daily school routes, trips, and charters. Must have back-up plans when people are our folks are not available. Hold others accountable for their actions or lack of actions. Assist with recruitment programs throughout the year. Ensure all drivers/monitors are equipped with all necessary job-related. training prior to allowing them to service the customer. Must be a great ambassador for the company, the district and his/her terminal. Will have the drive and ability to foster a great customer, vendor relationship. Will partner with customers in his/her area. Will assist in preparing payroll, account receivables, accounts payables, and month end reporting requirements. Must be familiar with Profit and Loss Reports and will use those reports to assist in decision making in the terminal’s operations. May assist in developing charter and school business for assets during non-school days and summer months. Participate in planning annual financial budgeting for the facility. Ensure total compliance with all federal, state and government mandated programs and initiatives. Will perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Highly motivated individuals with an emphasis on customer service. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret computerized graphs and information. Highly organized and able to multi-task. Must be firm, fair and consistent always. Must be a leader and not just a manager. Must know our people and what motivates them. Must have spotless attendance. Proven record of good decision making and the ability to make appropriate decisions with little or no notice. High school diploma, equivalent certification or Associate’s Degree from an accredited university or college in business is preferred. 5+ years’ experience in school bus operations. 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role, leading other people and working alongside customers. Valid CDL license with S & P endorsements may be required. SBDI preferred 19A Certification preferred Experience in and skill in the use of MS Office Suite is required. Knowledgeable in School District contracts and Federal and State regulations including OSHA and DOT.
