About The Position

Full responsibility and oversight of a 24/7 third party bulk liquid terminal operation in Chicago, IL. Position would be responsible for all aspects of the terminal including the P&L, budgeting and employee and customers responsibility. This position will manage four operators, one admin. The position will also work closely with the commercial and finance groups in meeting the objectives of the terminal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or 5 years or more working in related field required.
  • Background and 5 - 10 years of experience in the bulk liquid terminal industry
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Prior experience in running liquid tank farm operations.
  • Proven track record of managing an hourly workforce in an industrial setting.
  • Prior experience managing customer relationships as it relates to quantitative service management.
  • Solid knowledge of PC systems and related applications.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and properly set priorities.
  • Detailed and customer oriented.
  • Able to take initiative and work with others in accomplishing defined goals in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical capability, strong communication skills (oral and written) and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Secure and Grow Base Business (Increase service offering to current client base)
  • Identify growth opportunities; execute 1 expansion project per year.
  • Manage P&Ls to preserve operating margins and achieve EBITDA Targets
  • Understand profitability of each customer and commodity
  • Achieve 95% accuracy in forecasting (final week to actual)
  • Develop competition and market understanding and develop business strategy to exploit both
  • Develop and properly manage KPI and MOEs
  • Execute Quarterly Performance Meetings with Customers
  • Establish 72 hour planning cycle (review last 24, confirm current 24, forecast next 48)
  • Identify abnormal operations and mitigate associated risk
  • Understand facility limitations and prevent service failures
  • Understand compliance requirements and prevent regulatory exceedance
  • Identify the appropriate time to move the risk to the next management level
  • Understand quality requirements of our customers and fuel supply delivered to the airport
  • Coach, teach and mentor direct reports to achieve established goals
  • Develop a collaborative work environment which includes employees at all levels
  • Effectively communicate and enforce standards across the workforce
  • Effectively recognize employees for exceeding the standard
  • Identify and address employee issues at the terminal level
  • Identify and develop a plan to change or remove non-performers
  • Hold high standard in meeting the companies 'Drive to Zero' goals
