River Terminal Equipment Operator(s) move or transfer commodities to and from the terminal warehouse, barges, trucks, rail, etc., in order to meet the needs of the Terminal’s customers. Equipment Operators play a crucial role to our operation. Experience with Front-End Loader Operator is a must. Heavy equipment operation experience in general is a plus. This is a good fit for an individual who likes working outdoors, likes different job duties, is a self-starter, and likes to work with some independence once trained. The Terminal Equipment Operator will: Operate material handling equipment such as: front-end loader, excavator, bobcat, forklift, skid-steer, backhoe, track mobile, conveyor systems, and warehouse systems. Perform required functions for storage and transfer of customer products handled outside of the ware house, such as fertilizers, super sacks, salt and steel. Perform duties to move, secure, release, open and close barges and railcars. Manually operate hand tools, which include but are not limited to, shovels, picks, sledgehammers, and brooms. Assist Maintenance Technician(s) with preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems. Assist Maintenance Technician(s) with troubleshooting and take or recommend actions. Maintain proper information and records to ensure accurate inventory of product on hand, and verify the accuracy of all product shipments; input customer shipping data into system. Maintain good housekeeping of warehouse and terminal facility at all times. Observe all safety and environmental rules and regulations to prevent injury to self, fellow workers and environment.
