The position involves answering telephones with a heavy call volume and directing calls accurately. The employee will maintain a count list of items received or shipped and check against the bill of lading, recording any discrepancies. Responsibilities include preparing all paperwork and repackaging all OS&D freight, maintaining accurate records to report all OS&D freight issues to terminal management, and contacting customers to coordinate delivery times for freight delivery. The role also requires identifying freight bills that require special delivery instructions, responding to customer inquiries regarding the bill of lading, and providing proof of delivery by tracing shipments. Additionally, the employee will handle customer complaints concerning billing or services rendered, investigate and resolve inquiries regarding overages, shortages, and damaged freight issues, and verify and process paperwork concerning claims and tracing of freight. Regular attendance is required, and the job may involve performing other duties as assigned.
