About The Position

The Teradata Developer position at BCforward is a contract role focused on developing and maintaining applications within the Financial Crimes technology sector. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience with the Teradata platform and will be responsible for end-to-end application design, data analysis, and ensuring best practices in data provisioning. This role requires collaboration with business partners to define requirements and deliver solutions that enhance business goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Teradata Developer.
  • Strong understanding of the Teradata platform and hands-on solution architecture.
  • Experience with SQL/BTEQ scripting, TPT, and Informatica 10.x.
  • Proficiency in UNIX Shell scripting and Autosys.
  • Knowledge of Cloudera CDP, Hadoop (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala).
  • Demonstrated data sourcing, data analysis, and modeling skills.
  • Experience in SQL performance tuning and database-intensive development.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD) processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Business knowledge in financial domains related to Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex requirements and enhance existing applications in Financial Crimes technology.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs while supporting application maintenance.
  • Collaborate with business partners to define system application requirements.
  • Provide insights and direction from a data perspective, assessing impacts on technology systems.
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle of capabilities being delivered.
  • Contribute to story refinement and estimate work necessary for delivery.
  • Perform proof of concept to mitigate risks or implement new ideas.
  • Set up and automate continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Handle technical aspects of the application including Change Management and Maintenance.
  • Work with Data Analysts and Developers to ensure best practices and governance are followed.
