About The Position

The Temple University School of Social Work invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank to advance a funded research agenda, to teach in its undergraduate and graduate programs and to collaborate with interprofessional colleagues across the Temple University Barnett College of Public Health. The candidate will join the faculty in time to begin the Fall 2026 semester. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in social work; conducting and expanding established and funded research in quality of life, well-being and/or health areas critical to the advancement of social work practice; contributing to the establishment and advancement of interdisciplinary and interprofessional research with colleagues in the College and in the university more broadly; pursuit of external funding from a variety of sources to support their scholarly activities; publication in major social work and interdisciplinary journals and presentations at peer-reviewed national and international conferences; mentoring and advising students and/or early career faculty from different backgrounds; and making contributions to school, college, and university service. Note: this is not a fully remote position.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate (DSW or PhD) in social work, social welfare, or a relevant discipline.
  • Master of Social Work (MSW).
  • Prior social work teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated research excellence.
  • Experience with or potential for securing external funding.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, accessible spaces for all students.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional/Research experience in mental health, substance use, disabilities, and/or integrated care.
  • Classroom and online teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and communication/educational software.
  • Experience teaching and mentoring students from different backgrounds in an inclusive setting.

Responsibilities
