About The Position

The School of Supply Chain, Logistics, & Maritime Operations (SCLMO) at Old Dominion University (ODU) invite applications for tenure track/tenured positions (depending on experience) to begin in Fall 2025 as part of a three-position hiring initiative for Shipbuilding & Ship Repair. The appointed faculty will perform teaching, research, and service and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This interdisciplinary hiring initiative between SCLMO and the Frank Batten College of Engineering & Technology (BCET) supports ODU's areas of strategic emphasis, specifically focusing on on-demand manufacturing, supply chain/industry/manufacturing 4.0, and/or shipyard digitization. Pursuant to that, we seek candidates with a strong research track record in one or more of the following areas: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Maritime Cybersecurity, Logistics, Digital Shipbuilding, and Defense Manufacturing. Additional research interest areas include Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Digital Twins, Ship Repair, Maintenance Design, Stochastic Simulation, Multi-Criterion Decision Modeling, Predictive Analytics, and Reliability Engineering, to include the logistics of multiple supply chains impacting shipbuilding and repair.
