Tenure-Track Professor (Assistant, Associate, or Full) - School of Social Work
About The Position
The School of Social Work at Abilene Christian University invites applications and/or nominations for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Master of Science in Social Work program. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position. Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and educational degree. ACU’s School of Social Work offers both the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) and the Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degrees. Although the successful candidate will be primarily assigned to the graduate program, they will be expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The graduate program has a single specialization in Advanced Generalist Practice. Abilene Christian University is a private, Carnegie Doctoral university with approximately 6,000 students and offers four doctorates. Requirements
- Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited or internationally-recognized social work program.
- An earned doctorate is expected with strong consideration of ABD candidates in Social Work or a closely related field.
- The successful candidate must have at least two (2) years’ post-MSSW practice experience.
- The ability to teach across the social work curriculum is expected.
- All qualified applicants for these positions must be professing Christians and be active, faithful members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in university teaching and evidence of scholarship or scholarly potential is preferred.
- Teaching experience in an online modality is highly desirable.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have strong clinical/micro-practice experience, particularly in integrated health and behavioral health.
- Possession of the LCSW or equivalent is highly desired.
