About The Position

Texas A&M University College of Nursing is seeking two outstanding faculty members with experience in academic nursing education for full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty appointments in Bryan, Texas. These positions carry teaching responsibilities in our nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs and are full-time, 9-month appointments with the possibility of a summer contract, beginning August 2026. Applicants will be considered for the titles of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on experience and qualifications. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials and experience. The College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with multiple tracks (Traditional, Second Degree, and RN to BSN), a Master of Science in Nursing with concentrations in Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, and Forensic Nursing, as well as a clinical doctoral program (DNP-Leadership). We also offer a graduate certificate in Forensic Health Care and post-graduate certificates in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Future plans include launching a PhD program, an LVN to BSN, a BSN to DNP in Forensic Nursing, a DNP in Extreme Environments, and additional graduate and post-graduate certificate programs. We are a growing college within Texas A&M University, with programs located in Bryan, Texas (primary location); Round Rock, Texas; and McAllen, Texas. The College of Nursing is one of five health professions colleges within the Health Science Center. Its mission is to educate today's nurses and tomorrow's leaders who will transform health and health systems through innovative research and the translation of evidence into practice. The College is committed to addressing health disparities and inequities, with a particular focus on vulnerable and underserved populations. These faculty positions will strengthen the College's research, teaching, and service portfolio by expanding its established programs in rural health care and advancing nursing practice across various clinical and community settings. Requirements

  • Earned PhD degree in nursing or in a related field with at least one graduate degree in nursing.
  • Clinical expertise in nursing; candidate must be eligible for a Texas RN and/or APRN license depending upon credentials.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity, extramural funding, or strong potential for obtaining extramural funding.
  • Experience teaching academic nursing (face-to-face, online, or clinical courses) at the baccalaureate or higher level.
  • Must be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, and eligible for tenure consideration at Texas A&M University depending on rank.
  • Strong writing, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate on interprofessional teams.
  • Highly organized and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish effective working relationships.
  • Understanding of the mission and role of Land Grant Universities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute meaningfully to teaching, research/scholarship, and service within the college and university.
  • Teach effectively across classroom, clinical, simulation, and online environments.
  • Develop new courses that align with current curricular and accreditation standards.
  • Prepare and revise course materials and assessments to enhance student learning.
  • Select and manage high-quality clinical experiences and provide competent clinical supervision.
  • Evaluate student performance, advise, and mentor students for academic success.
  • Maintain posted office hours and collaborate with and mentor faculty colleagues.
  • Stay current with clinical certifications.
  • Conduct research and scholarship activities in accordance with rank and appointment expectations.
  • Disseminate findings through publications and presentations.
  • Seek competitive external funding to support research endeavors.
  • Lead or collaborate on scholarly projects that advance nursing education, clinical practice, or health outcomes.
  • Participate in college, university, and professional activities, including committee membership and accreditation initiatives.
  • Advise student organizations and engage with the community.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and provide leadership within college or university committees and professional organizations.
