About The Position

The University of Illinois is seeking a Tenure-Track or Clinical Track Open Rank Professor in Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery. This is a full-time position (100%, 12-month basis) that requires a DVM degree or equivalent, along with American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) board certification or completed residency training with credentials accepted by the ACVS. The successful candidate will engage in clinical service, teaching, and scholarly activities within a dynamic veterinary environment that emphasizes both animal health and the human-animal bond.

Requirements

• DVM degree or equivalent.
• ACVS board certification or completed residency training with credentials accepted by the ACVS.
• Preference for candidates with advanced degrees, a track record in scholarship, and/or prior research training.

Nice To Haves

• Strong interest and/or experience in joint replacement.
• Experience in a busy rehabilitation therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical service in small animal orthopedic surgery.
• Contribute to the didactic and clinical instruction of surgical residents, interns, and veterinary students.
• Communicate effectively with clients and primary veterinarians.
• Participate in clinically and scientifically relevant scholarship.
• Engage in collaborative research opportunities within the faculty and with scientists on the main campus.
