About The Position

The Barbara H. Hagan School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Molloy University seeks a full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty member with a strong background in quantitative research methods. We seek candidates with strong research experience and enthusiasm for teaching, and service to join our supportive and energetic community of teacher-scholars. All of our nursing programs take a holistic and personal approach to the development of students as clinicians, leaders, researchers, and advocates for health equity and improvement of healthcare, and as lifelong learners. The ideal candidate will share this commitment. Our highly successful nursing programs have multiple entry points to prepare nurses at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels. Our PhD program offers a research degree that focuses on leadership and policy in all professional areas of nursing. The university seeks candidates with qualifications to educate, mentor, and evaluate students through the doctoral level; and serve as PhD dissertation advisors and on dissertation committees. The candidate may teach courses across programs in the context of expertise and programmatic needs. Other opportunities include participation in interprofessional education and scholarship, engagement in research that advances the profession, program assessment and curriculum development, and service to the university. Depending on experience and expertise, the candidate may also qualify for a leadership/chair position on the university IRB, with an adjusted workload to address responsibilities inclusive of upholding regulatory requirements and ethical/human subjects standards, review and decision-making related to IRB applications, faculty training, and other related IRB activities.

Requirements

  • Eligible for unrestricted licensure as an RN in New York State.
  • Research doctorate (PhD, DNSc, or EdD).
  • Established program of research.
  • 5 years of experience in clinical specialty - preferred.
  • Experience in nursing education and higher education - preferred.
  • Certification in practice area - preferred.
  • Experience serving/chairing IRB - preferred.
  • Experience with grant writing - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educate, mentor, and evaluate students through the doctoral level.
  • Serve as PhD dissertation advisors and on dissertation committees.
