About The Position

The Tenure Track Computer Systems Technology Instructor at Montana State University Billings is responsible for delivering quality instruction in undergraduate Computer Systems Technology and Cybersecurity courses. This role involves teaching up to 30 credits per academic year, collaborating with peers to enhance curriculum, advising students, and engaging in community service and professional development activities. The instructor will support the mission and goals of City College while fostering a positive learning environment for diverse student populations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Five years of current, relevant work experience in the field.
• Experience teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level.
• Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas).
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems and network environments.
• Experience with teaching diverse student populations.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Industry-standard certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Fundamentals).
• Experience managing a college computer classroom.
• Experience teaching at a two-year technical or community college.
• Familiarity with new and emerging technologies in curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 30 credits per academic year in Computer Systems Technology and Cybersecurity courses.
• Collaborate with peer instructors to ensure curriculum meets student and industry needs.
• Provide academic advising to program students and support their retention.
• Engage in curriculum development and refinement to address changing student populations.
