About The Position

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Virginia Military Institute invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor with a start date of 1 August 2025. This is a full-time, in-person position, whose responsibilities include teaching all levels of Spanish (3-3), professional citizenship activities, scholarship, and advising/mentoring students. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative teacher-scholar. Virginia Military Institute is a state-supported undergraduate military college of Engineering, the Sciences, and the Humanities, situated in the Shenandoah Valley. Requirements

• Ph.D. in Spanish/Hispanic Studies (ABD may be considered)
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English

Nice To Haves

• Specialization in any area of Spanish/Hispanic Studies
• Military experience (not required)
