About The Position

The Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing (SON) in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position. We seek applicants who are committed to teaching excellence, both within a traditional BSN and accelerated pre-licensure MSN program. The successful applicant will teach a range of nursing courses and current needs prioritize subject matter expertise in pathophysiology, pharmacology, acute and chronic care, and health assessment. In addition, applicants will provide academic advising to students and participate in service activities in the school, college, and university. The standard teaching load for this position is six courses in an academic year. The successful applicant will develop and pursue an active research agenda, and all areas of nursing research/scholarship will be considered. We seek candidates who are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, interested in working as part of an interprofessional team, and eager to develop a scholarly agenda that engages students in meaningful ways.

Requirements

  • PhD in Nursing or closely related field, or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Completion of all coursework with dissertation in progress will also be considered.
  • Alternatively, an EdD or PhD in an area unrelated to Nursing is acceptable if the candidate holds a bachelor's or master's degree in Nursing.
  • Must be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Minnesota.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness in a higher education setting or as a clinical educator within an acute care setting.
  • Capacity to conduct and disseminate peer-reviewed research.
