About The Position

With locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. As the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US. McConway & Torley is looking for Quality Inspector for our Tensile Lab. In this role, you will be performing basic quality control testing and inspection of standard parts, units, equipment, or material to ensure conformance with standards and determining if product meets all requirements. You will also operate all of the equipment in the tensile lab to ensure quality for all of our products.

Requirements

Must be available to work any shift, but the shift will be steady once assigned.
Must be able to use basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measurers
Must be able to run basic machining machines. Load a part, set it up, and run the machine.
Must have the ability to function and communicate in a team setting
Must be attentive to detail
Must be punctual, predictable, and have regular attendance
Must be able to stand for long durations
Must be tolerant to extreme temperatures
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have a good attitude and be adaptable to changes
Must follows all safety requirements per safety department, JSA, supervision, and others
Must be available to work either shift and overtime as necessary
Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
Must be able to follow a strict safety program
