About The Position

Interested in joining our racquet sports team? We are seeking a qualified Coordinator for our Tennis programs at the Glen Ellyn Park District. This coordinator role is responsible for performing administrative tasks such as promoting the program to the community, scheduling programs and lessons, coaching and leading specialized teams, supervising related facilities, and supervising part-time coaching staff. This position will also instruct both Youth and Adult Tennis programs. This position requires professional knowledge of Youth and Adult Tennis. This is an at-will position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience coaching Youth and Adult Tennis.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications Highly Desired: USTA and/or other recognized racquet sports certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of Youth and Adult Tennis including scheduling of programs and staff, ordering of necessary program supplies, and providing general guidance/direction for both programs.
  • Hiring, training, and supervision of part-time staff.
  • Plan and organize engaging activities for Youth and Adult Tennis programming.
  • Serve as an instructor for Youth and Adult Tennis programming.
  • Promote the program within the community.
  • Communicate effectively with program participants and families.
  • Respond to facility maintenance needs for the various tennis courts that are used for programming.
  • Leadership and management of Youth and Adult Tennis programming.
  • Assist in seasonal information planning of Park District playbooks.
  • Assist in payroll for part-time staff.
  • Strive for high participation, program retention, and revenue growth.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality within facilities.
