About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading the sourcing strategy GSI NAM Projects in coordination with the Regional Commodity Managers. This role is responsible for managing a strategic sourcing panel for the bid, achieving competitive costs, and implementing effective contracts that mitigate risks while ensuring the project schedule is being met.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high voltage electrical construction project environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with contracting and negotiation of equipment, material, and subcontractors
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic & internationally 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Define strategy, evaluate and negotiate costs for equipment (non-exclusive internal and external) and site works in support of NAM ACS, FACTS and HVDC projects.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Contracts and Project Controls teams to understand technical requirements, customer expectations and timelines.
  • Analyze project schedules and ensure supplier quotations, lead times and delivery commitments align with project milestones and critical path requirements
  • Manage master planning for Sourcing and ensure operational alignment across all functions within the project team
  • Ensure supplier assessments, supplier onboarding, and supplier qualifications are completed timely in partnership with Commodity Managers.
  • Proactively identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect project cost, schedule and quality
  • Negotiate project-specific agreements for external material/equipment, subcontractors and site works where applicable
  • Lead and understand the firming calculation during project close-out, ensuring accurate cost validation, final commitments and financial alignment with project results
  • Ensure compliance with GE Grid Solutions sourcing policies
