About The Position

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A PART-TIME/TEMPORARY POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required. Open to High School students. Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English. Possess good physical condition, stamina and ability for heavy and repeated lifting of approximately 75 lbs. Knowledge of and ability to work with hand tools, pressure washers, scrubbing machines, manlifts, fork-lifts and pallet-jacks. Ability to work on fixed and portable ladders; physically capable of bending, stooping, continuous standing and walking. Able to work in varied temperatures. Able to work unique hours such as nights, weekends and holidays. Experience in the general maintenance of facilities preferred. Ability to work inside and outside. Outside weather may have may require working in the heat, rain, and other elements. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a temporary assignment that is available to work less than 20 hours per week for one school calendar year. SALARY/PAYGRADE: $15.50 - HS3 Salary based on verifiable job-related experience as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Member of the operations team with a primary responsibility in supporting events at the Berry Center. Perform the set-up and disassembly of stage equipment, basketball floor, meeting room furniture (chairs, tables, carts), concourse set-ups, dressing rooms and other event-related equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and participate in repairs of facility and equipment. Perform pre/post event conversion inspections and document with checklists. Perform cleaning and maintenance throughout facility. Keep all areas clean, organized and functional. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Work with all other support departments to successfully operate the Berry Center. Perform other duties assigned by the Berry Center management team and/or CFISD administrative team. Assist with the preparation of athletic fields/courts for games. Assist mowing, edging, weeding, all venue complex grounds and parking lots. Assist other departments as needed such as custodial, guest services, and AV. OPEN TO HIGH SCHOOL AGE STUDENTS AS WELL WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Exposure to working inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), moderate exposure to noise, and moderate exposure to extended periods of sitting and/or standing.
