About The Position

Under administrative direction and oversight of the Park Superintendent II, assist with administering, managing, and supervising the parks housekeeping and other park-related operations. Duties will include scheduling, organizing, overseeing, and working alongside crews responsible for cleaning a large number of rental units, shower houses, bathrooms, lodge rooms and outhouses as well as laundry operations at Fort Robinson State Park. Assist with managing quality control, inventories, as well as equipment and building maintenance related to housekeeping operations. Assist with hiring, training and supervising seasonal workforce. Maintain records and prepare appropriate reports. Perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation or interpretation, travel and tourism, and planning) AND one year related experience.
  • Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience and/or education related to park housekeeping operations; park maintenance, natural and cultural resource issues; overall knowledge of park operations.
  • Ability to plan, manage, analyze and evaluate park activities and visitor schedules; manage and prioritize deadlines and schedules; communicate clear and effectively; plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinate personnel; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other supervisors and the public; enforce park rules and regulations; this position requires the ability to perform physical tasks on a daily basis.
