The Student Leadership and Engagement Programming Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing student leadership initiatives and campus engagement experiences that promote holistic student development. This position leads key leadership development efforts, including workshops, retreats, and speaker series, and serves as the campus liaison for the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). The Coordinator plays a central role in planning university-wide traditions and signature events such as Welcome Weeks, Eagle Fest, and heritage celebrations, while also supporting student recognition programs and civic engagement tracking. Reporting to Student Affairs leadership, the Coordinator works collaboratively across departments to create vibrant, inclusive, and developmental engagement opportunities for all students. This is a temporary position through December 19th or other date as determined by administration.

  • Plan and facilitate leadership workshops, retreats, and speaker events.
  • Serve as the campus liaison for the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), managing communication, onboarding, and engagement.
  • Plan the multi-year student leadership pathway, aligned with student identity and skill development.
  • Market & recruit students to participate in leadership development programs.
  • Advise and mentor students engaged in leadership and service opportunities.
  • Help students reflect on and articulate their growth through co-curricular engagement.
  • Coordinate signature events with campus constituencies across University campuses.
  • Organize and plan logistics for Fall and Winter Welcome Week, Eagle Fest, and Eagle Week traditions.
  • Oversee committees for execution of Eagle Fest, MLK Luncheon, LatinX Heritage Month Celebration, National First Generation College Students Luncheon, Month of Service and additional signature events as assigned.
  • Support administrative logistics for club sports teams. Assist with the coordination and management of club events.
  • Coordinate the student leadership awards process including outreach, nomination, selection, and event planning.
  • Oversee induction ceremonies related to NSLS and other leadership groups.
  • Lead the selection and recognition process for the university's Lincoln Laureate, working with Academic Affairs and Advancement.
  • Regularly recognize student leaders and award recipients through digital storytelling, especially on professional platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Advancement to amplify leadership achievements, induction milestones, and community contributions through social media campaigns and student spotlights.
  • Ensure student recognition is timely, inclusive, and aligned with university branding and engagement goals.
  • Collect and track participation and outcomes related to leadership and civic engagement.
  • Manage the creation and issuance of leadership development and community engagement badges in involveU.
  • Support leadership in managing allocated budgets, promoting responsible and strategic use of resources.
  • Develop, implement, and report on assessment plans to inform program improvement.
  • Contribute to university and divisional annual planning processes and strategic reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by university leadership, adapting to evolving priorities and needs.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of two years of experience in student engagement, leadership development, civic learning, or related co-curricular programming
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation and international students
  • Experience large-scale managing events, with strong planning, organizational, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging a wide range of technology platforms to support event planning, student engagement, communication, case management, and collaboration, including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Teams, social media tools, and cloud-based systems.
