There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.

The Temporary ASL Interpreter Pool is intended for qualified applicants to be called upon for appointments on an as-needed basis of limited duration. By applying to this pooled position, applicants are not applying for a specific position. Instead, applicants are submitting an application to be considered for temporary, on-call, and some regularly anticipated needs that may arise to serve our students, staff, faculty, and visitors in both the classroom and at events. The individual(s) in this position is responsible for providing sign language accommodations under the mandates of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and NC State University policies. Sign language interpreters facilitate communication between Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, DeafBlind and hearing consumers. To facilitate communication, interpreters use American Sign Language (ASL), Signed English, Contact sign, Oral Transliterating, and/or Cued Speech. Interpreters must be able to adjust to a broad range of consumer needs and preferences and work comfortably with a wide spectrum of interpreting services which requires a high degree of linguistic, cognitive and technical skill. Interpreters must be able to accurately convey the register, tone, intent and content of the consumer's message.
