About The Position

Crowne Plaza North Augusta is seeking energetic and service-driven Temporary Servers to join our team for Masters Week. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience during one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and thrives under pressure, with a strong focus on teamwork and guest satisfaction. Open availability is required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours throughout Masters Week.

Requirements

Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred.
Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required.
Strong communication and multitasking skills.
Friendly, professional attitude and attention to detail.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry trays or plates.
Knowledge of POS systems is a plus.
Certification in food safety and responsible alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS) preferred.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
Ability to accurately report information.
Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
Attend required meetings.

Responsibilities

Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
Serve food and drinks in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary options.
Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in throughout the meal and addressing any needs.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure correct and timely order delivery.
Handle payments, issue receipts, return change, or process credit cards.
Maintain cleanliness of tables, stations, and service areas.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner and assist the host or hostess in seating guests as needed.
Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, service, appropriate wines, and food preparation.
Memorize menu selections and wines, including being familiar with daily specials and basic ingredients.
Use proper verbiage and etiquette, including serving ladies first.
Write the order in an order notebook. Repeat the order back to guests for clarity.
Relay orders to the kitchen and service bar utilizing the point-of-sale system.
Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when the meal has been completed for guest checkout.
Total the bill and accept payment or refer the guest to the cashier.
Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
Notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints.
Use proper etiquette guidelines for seating guests.
Practice and observe all safety rules and procedures.
Assist all service personnel in any duties as requested.
Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures.
