KPMG is currently seeking a Temporary Senior Engineer, Technology Operations Center for a nine-month assignment to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

Requirements

Minimum three years of recent experience in IT operations, NOC/TOC, or systems monitoring
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or similar are a plus
Knowledge of monitoring platforms and analysis applications such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup; some familiarity of databases such as SQL and Oracle servers is a plus
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; keen attention to detail and willingness to learn; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; capability to build productive relationships with peers

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting other technologies such as IIS, VMware, Network, Cisco routers/ switches, Palo Alto Firewalls; proven experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus

Responsibilities

Monitor infrastructure, applications, and network systems using enterprise tools (for example: ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup); respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial triage, and escalate as necessary
Maintain situational awareness of the IT environment and provide real-time updates to stakeholders; collaborate with support teams to resolve issues and restore services quickly; participate in shift rotations to provide 24x7 coverage
Support change enablement activities and ensure proper validation and communication; generate and distribute operational reports and metrics
Continuously improve monitoring and alerting capabilities; escalate incidents to the appropriate engineering disciplines within the organization or external vendors as required to achieve resolution
Use standard runbooks to mitigate or resolve incident and support requests and escalate to appropriate teams as necessary; participate in and track incidents from inception to resolution, including root cause analysis; support continuous improvement to internal processes
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
