About The Position

As a Temporary Pre-Tabulation Room Attendant II, you will support the election process by organizing and physically loading/unloading wheeled carts with incoming early ballot trays throughout the facility, and supporting various teams in early ballot preparation, processing, and tabulation. Additionally, you will train and oversee new room attendants and manage processed affidavits for audit and retention. This position requires the employee to be in the office/field or customer-facing for all hours worked.

Requirements

  • Experience utilizing a calculator or similar device
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must successfully complete a background screening
  • Must be eligible to vote in Arizona
  • Mandatory overtime during all election cycles

Responsibilities

  • Supports the area supervisor to coordinate the flow of ballot racks and keeps them in proper sequence in the room
  • Ensures every tray is accompanied by a ballot report and that the reports are numerically tracked for audit purposes
  • Supports the area supervisor in training and managing new room attendants
  • Maintains the audit trail for processed affidavits by labeling retention boxes, tracking assigned numbers, matching them to returned affidavits, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Works with QC to organize the staging and movement of processed trays and their paperwork before and after QC review
  • Removes processed affidavits from trays reviewed by QC, verifies their accuracy, and loads ballot trays onto carts for delivery to the Ballot Tabulation Center
  • Distributes and collects trays of early ballots to and from processing tables, ensuring each tray has complete documentation
  • Organizes retention boxes in numerical order and moves them to the designated area
  • Assists the supervisor in identifying processing tables that need assistance
  • Receives ballot processing training and may temporarily serve as a ballot processor at the discretion of the area supervisor
