About The Position

This position will be in the Department of Public and Ecosystem Health and affiliated with the Master of Public Health Program at Cornell University. Dr. Amelia Greiner Safi will be the primary supervisor. Rural adults are often excluded from research, yet for diseases like Lyme disease, their exposure may be considerably high. We hosted multiple focus groups across 4 states in summer 2025 to assess attitudes towards Lyme disease risk and tick bite prevention strategies. These focus groups now need to be analyzed, interpreted and written up for publication. Approximately 15 hours a week from Nov 14 through June 30. Bi-weekly meetings will be in person; analysis can be remote.

Requirements

  • Previously involved in Lyme Disease Focus Group Data collection for this research project
  • Taken courses in the MPH Program or highly familiar with the program
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis
  • Ability to attend in person meetings

Responsibilities

  • Support data analysis of focus groups with rural adults about Lyme Disease via: Transcribing focus group recordings
  • Cleaning/anonymizing data
  • Support development of a codebook
  • Support coding of focus groups, interviews
  • Support interpretation of coding
  • Support manuscript prep
