Work with small fruit team to help propagate, maintain, fertilize, scout, plant, harvest fruit, collect data. Requirements

  • Relevant Master's degree or Relevant Bachelor's and 3 or more years of relevant experience, or relevant independent experience and education
  • Experience with small fruit crops, including tissue culture, greenhouse production, and field management
  • Ability to perform controlled hybridizations in strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry
  • Proficiency in excising, propagating, and maintaining plant material in tissue culture
  • Experience monitoring greenhouse and field plants for pests and implementing basic IPM practices
  • Ability to manage plant care activities, including irrigation, fertilization, germination, and general crop maintenance
  • Experience in harvesting, recording, and analyzing phenotypic and experimental data
  • Ability to train others-including graduate and undergraduate students-in laboratory, greenhouse, and field techniques
  • Experience supervising undergraduate student workers in lab, greenhouse, and field settings
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • At least 4 years experience working in a small fruit breeding program
