About The Position

New Jersey's academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Immunity and Inflammation at the New Jersey Medical School. The Temporary Research Assistant position is part time. Under direction, performs and assists with technical laboratory procedures and analyses in support of specialized research activities in the laboratory. Assists in the set-up, and conducting of experiments as required. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.

Responsibilities

  • Under general guidance, provides laboratory and technical support involving research methods and techniques.
  • Performs multistage purifications, other assays and tests; propagates specimens and cell culture.
  • Communicate and collaborate with numerous individuals on all facets of the project.
  • Assists with experimentation and research activities.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
  • Maintains accurate records of experimentation and research.
