About The Position
The Temporary Research Assistant II in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology will perform laboratory-based experiments to investigate genetic factors that modify cancer and metabolic disease risks following exposures to environmental and dietary toxicants. Assist in laboratory ordering and biosafety management duties.
Requirements
- Three (3) or more years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Competencies DNA and RNA extractions, qPCR, cell culture, enzymatic analyses, biochemical and molecular assays, data management, and research planning.
- Ability to use software for fund accounting and data presentation.
- Ability to prepare and effectively communicate research reports and presentations.
- Ability to manage and prioritize time to effectively perform duties assigned.
Nice To Haves
- BS in biological or chemical sciences
- Laboratory research experience in cell culture and biochemical assays.
- Evidence of research productivity and communication of experimental results
- Demonstrated interest and potential for research independence appropriate for matriculation into a PhD program in biomedical sciences.
- References that attest to work effort and ability to perform experiments independently towards broad research objectives
