About The Position

This individual can perform repairs and maintenance work on their own and assisting contractors in performing major repairs and maintenance work. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties. Work is reviewed by an evaluation of the timely and accurate completion of assignments. This person has significant experience in the trades making competent decisions that arise during the work. This level of employee is expected to schedule, plan and execute the assigned tasks with little direction or oversite. This person should be able to think of obstacles and remove or plan around them.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience in a related area

Responsibilities

Repairs mechanical, electrical, and plumbing breakdowns, etc.
Checks and cleans all fire extinguishers, hoses, cabinets, compressors, tools, and equipment.
Moves and stores furniture, equipment and supplies.
Patches, plasters, repairs and paints drywall, walls, tile, ceilings, floors and doors.
Cleans and replaces filters on all equipment, maintains safe and secure working area.
Keeps all side walk, common and parking areas clean of debris, ice and snow.
Replaces heads in sprinkler systems that are corroded, rusted or in default.
Coordinates cleaning by maintenance personnel.
Drives company vehicles, fills out proper mileage and maintenance forms, provides routine maintenance as directed by policy.
Assists in kitchen area with daily upkeep and inventory of supplies.
Occasionally will paint wall surfaces throughout building.
Participates fully in assigned evacuation drills understanding fully assigned duties.
Requests supervision when unclear about responsibilities, safety and work.
Reports safety hazards or unsafe practices to administrative superior who will proceed with correction procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
