About the position

The Regional Program Specialist for Service to the Armed Forces at the American Red Cross is responsible for supervising the delivery of services to military members, veterans, and their families. This role involves managing daily operations, providing guidance to volunteers, and ensuring programs are executed in accordance with Red Cross policies. The position requires building relationships with community and military leaders, overseeing volunteer programs, and monitoring program outcomes to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise team to administer the delivery of American Red Cross services to military members, veterans, and their families.
  • Manage daily operations and provide guidance to Red Cross offices in establishing and maintaining programs and services.
  • Provide support and leadership guidance to volunteers.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with community leaders, military leaders, and other organizations.
  • Manage a volunteer program to meet workforce models and ensure diversity in staffing.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage expenditures to ensure programs operate within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Public speaking skills and effective communication abilities are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
  • Familiarity with military culture, regulations, and protocol is strongly desired.
