About The Position

The Dance Instructor is responsible for leading engaging, inclusive, and energetic dance classes for youth, teens, and adults. This position fosters creativity, self-expression, and wellness through movement while supporting the department's mission to promote healthy lifestyles and community connections. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in dance instruction and a passion for making dance accessible, fun, and rewarding for participants of all skill levels.

Requirements

• Associate Degree and four (4) years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Nice To Haves

• Certification or formal training in dance, performing arts, or fitness instruction
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience working with children, teens, or multi-generational groups
• Knowledge of choreography, performance preparation, or cultural dance forms

• Lead structured and creative dance classes that promote movement, coordination, and self-confidence
• Provide a fun and inclusive space for participants of all backgrounds and skill levels
• Help improve rhythm, flexibility, balance, and overall fitness
