About The Position

The Public Health Youth Program Specialist (YPS) is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and retaining youth and young adult leaders from the 78744 zip code. This part-time role involves implementing and facilitating youth business meetings, supporting community needs assessments, and managing logistics for various projects. The YPS ensures that youth experience high-quality and culturally relevant leadership opportunities while collaborating with community partners and leading training sessions.

Requirements

• Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.
• Valid Texas Class C Drivers License.
• 4 years of experience in a relevant field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience implementing youth leadership programming.
• Experience mentoring youth in out of school time positive youth development activities.
• Familiarity with social media tools for organizing and advocacy (i.e. Remind App, Facebook, and Instagram).
• Spanish speaker.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends.
